Most business incubators today provide physical space, shared administrative
services, and part-time volunteer executive mentoring. The Hudson Valley
Center for Innovation, Inc. (HVCFI) is designed to enhance the anticipated
performance of the traditional incubator model by providing additional
services that are deemed most important for a member company to be
placed on a fast track towards commercialization and self-sustainability,
and for the Center to achieve an accelerated return on its investment
of services.
HVCFI’s creators believe that our additional
services will:
-
Increase the probability of incubated companies to sustain
performance over time.
- Increase the number of jobs that can be created in the Hudson
Valley region.
- Reduce the time it takes for an fledgling incubated company
to become self-sustaining.
Enhanced Services:
- Provision of a full-time, on-site Executive Mentoring
Staff that includes resident CEO, CFO and Marketing Executives,
all of whom have past and current experiences starting and growing
successful entrepreneurial entities.
- Maintaining a strong Board
of Directors that includes leaders from regional Economic Development
Agencies, a cadre of national business executives, representatives
from academia and legal and financial institutions.
- Professional on-site management to both manage our facilities
and ensure that each tenant member receives the highest quality
attention necessary for fulfilling our joint missions.
- A diverse Board of Advisors consisting of members of the
academic, business, technology and consulting communities
whose mission includes screening applicants and continually
monitoring and evaluating the performance of incubator
member companies.
- Creation and maintenance of on-going affiliations with
regional academic, business, and investment partners
as well as other regional, national and international incubators.
- Provision of additional support services that include: Financial
Services (bookkeeping, audits); HR Services (insurances, benefits,
staffing); and Shared IT (hardware, software, and service support).
It is also envisioned that HVCFI’s close association with
the Hudson Valley investment community will further enhance the ability
of member companies to prosper and grow.
